Beef with Ham and Mushrooms
Ingredients:
2 tablespons Olive Oil
200g Button Mushrooms (trim stalks)
1 Slice Yorkshire Ham (cut into strips)
2 Sirloin Steaks
1 Clove Garlic (crushed)
1 large Glass White Wine
150ml Single Cream
You will also need a Saute Pan with lid that can go in the oven or a frying pan and ovenproof dish with lid.
Method
Preheat oven to 180 C.
Heat oil in pan, add mushroom and ham, fry until mushrooms start to brown
Lay steaks over mushrooms, spread garlic on steaks, add wine and bring to the boil.
Place lid on pan (ot transfer to ovenproof dish) and bake for 15 mins (longer if you like your steaks well done)
Remove steaks from pan and keep warm, return pan to hob, add cream and boil for 3-5 mins until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
Serve by pouring sauce over the steaks.
Notes:
I sometimes use garlic paste as it is easier to spread.
Chopped parsley can be added with the garlic if required.
Nice when served with a mixture of roasted potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes
